Gangtok, Sikkim — where it all began
Our Story

It began with one reporter and a promise: fresh news, honestly told.

The Sikkim Samachar started as a simple idea in the hills of Gangtok — that the stories shaping India shouldn't reach readers late, watered down, or dressed up. Founder Pemba Sherpa began by covering the headlines himself, one blog post at a time, writing the way he'd explain the news to a friend.

What began as a personal notebook of the day's events grew into a newsroom of its own. Today the Samachar carries that same voice across politics, business, sport and cinema — plain language, no noise, and a deep loyalty to the readers who started reading when it was just one byline: Pemba.
