Ravangla Marks Auspicious Commencement of Pang Lhabsol Celebration 2026

Namchi, August 25 (IPR): The inaugural ceremony of Pang Lhabsol Celebration 2026 was held at Udhar Che-Sum Mani Chorkling Gumpa, Ravangla, today, marking the commencement of the annual celebration dedicated to Mount Khangchendzonga, revered as the guardian deity of Sikkim.

Organised Under the Patronage of Area MLA Barfung

The celebration is being organised by the All Sikkim Bhutia Association and Pang Lhabsol Gumpa Committee under the patronage of Area MLA, Barfung, Mr Rikshal Dorjee Bhutia.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by the Area MLA, along with APS to HCM Namchi Mr Bishnu Prasad Sharma, SDM Ravangla Mr Saran Kalikotey, President Pang Lhabsol Gumpa Committee Mr Lendup Dorjee Bhutia, along with members of the organising associations and committee, and devotees.

At the onset, the Area MLA offered prayers at the Gumpa for the auspicious commencement of the celebration and for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people.

Pangtoed Cham and Tsewang Blessing to Follow

It may be mentioned that the celebration will continue until August 28, featuring the traditional Pangtoed Cham (Masked Warrior Dance), showcasing the age-old Sikkimese heritage.

On the concluding day, devotees will also have the opportunity to receive the Tsewang (Long-Life Blessing) from His Eminence the 10th Sangay Nygpa Rinpoche, seeking blessings for longevity, good health, and well-being.
