The film was released on a Thursday, coinciding with the occasion of the Eid al-Adha holiday.

Film trade analyst Sumit Kadel tweeted that Satyaprem Ki Katha had sold 51,500 tickets till Wednesday 10 pm, which he considered to be “one of the best pre-sales for a mid-sized film post-pandemic.” However, the film’s opening collection is significantly lower than Kartik and Kiara’s 2022 blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which had a massive opening of ₹14 crore on day 1. Nevertheless, it still performs better than Kartik’s previous theatrical release, Shehzada, which opened at ₹6 crore and turned out to be a flop.
