Sikkim Secures First Prize for Best Stall Coordination at Asian Agri, Horti & Organic Expo 2026, Haridwar
The Department of Horticulture, Government of Sikkim, participated in the Asian Agri, Horti & Organic Expo 2026, held from 21st to 23rd August 2026 at the Exhibition Hall, Prem Nagar Ashram, Haridwar, Uttarakhand.
Showcasing Sikkim's Horticultural Potential
Sikkim was represented at the expo by Deputy Director Mrs Tashi Choki Bhutia, Deputy Director Ms. Hissey Cheday Bhutia, and Horticulture Development Officer Ms. Choki Sherpa. The team showcased a diverse range of finished and value-added horticultural products of Sikkim, highlighting the State's rich horticultural potential, indigenous produce, and efforts towards value addition and market promotion.
Dignitaries Visit the Sikkim Stall
The Sikkim stall attracted considerable attention from dignitaries and visitors throughout the three-day exhibition. Hon'ble Shri Satpal Maharaj, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Irrigation, Government of Uttarakhand, visited the Sikkim stall and appreciated the products and the State's participation in the expo. Shri Madan Kaushik and Shri Adesh Chauhan, Hon'ble MLA, also visited the stall during the exhibition and interacted with the representatives.
During his visit to the stall, Hon'ble Minister Satpal Maharaj expressed his appreciation for Sikkim's participation and conveyed his gratitude to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim for sending gifts and for the State's participation in the exhibition. He also acknowledged the Hon'ble Chief Minister during his address at the event.
Recognition: First Prize for Best Stall Coordination
The participation brought further recognition to Sikkim as the State was conferred the 1st Prize for "Best Stall Coordination" at the expo. The Award of Honour was presented in recognition of the Department of Horticulture, Sikkim's valued participation and effective coordination of its stall.
The successful participation at the Asian Agri, Horti & Organic Expo 2026 marks another significant step towards strengthening the identity and market presence of Sikkim's horticultural products at the national level.
